We,
at Primrose Institute, believe that
Learning
begins and continues at home.
Parents
are the best teachers.
Learning
process begins with parents.
Learning
can be fun.
Learning
opens the whole wide world.
Learning
is what a child wants to do all the time.
Techniques
have been evolved so that this learning process is painless and a lot of fun.
We wish to introduce parents to such techniques in the programme HOW TO TEACH YOUR CHILD AT HOME.
We
are a group of motivated parents who wish to share our experiences and
knowledge and make a difference in the way a parent relates to education as a
whole. Parents are the first true teachers
of a child and we encourage parents to teach their own children giving them an
opportunity to broaden their child’s mind through discussions and analysis.
Teaching happily and seamlessly creates a bond that is as unique as it is
interesting.
To do so, we shall help you with some tools. Learn some exciting,
adventurous and fun ways of teaching from three people for whom teaching is a
passion and children are the most important people on the planet.

Who does the workshop?
- Parents
who enjoy teaching and want to actively participate in their child’s life.
- Parents
who believe that educating themselves is the first step towards the
education of their child.
- Parents
who want to know how to be 100% effective in the limited time they have
with their child, whilst also pursuing their careers.
- Parents
who have exceptional children and want to know how to provide that little
extra.
- Parents
who have to deal with specific issues with their child – learning
disabilities, speech clarity, writing and spelling difficulties, dyslexia,
autism, Down’s syndrome, etc.
Benefits of doing the workshop:
- Children
whose parents follow this programme will be confident, expressive and
joyful.
- Children
whose parents follow this programme will learn to speak, read, write and
spell, do math and learn about the world around them, effortlessly,
joyfully and with great enthusiasm.
- This
programme nurtures the inherent curiosity in a child to learn all the
time, everywhere.
- Children
whose parents follow this programme are high achievers in academics,
sports and co-curricular activities in school.
- Children
whose parents follow this programme are creative – in performing arts,
visual arts, creative writing, etc.
How it works:
- All
children are curious, and want to learn new things all the time. This
programme takes maximum advantage of this.
- Speed
is the essence of this programme, and we do know that children love speed
– cars, planes, cheetah, cartoons, etc.
- A
single point programme which puts the child on a path to independent
learning. This programme teaches parents how to teach reading (leading to
voracious, independent readers), encyclopedic knowledge (leading to
confident, knowledgeable, creative youngsters), math (leading to logical
and analytical skills).
- This
programme gives a parent a uniform tool to teach anything, anywhere,
anytime.
- The
brain, which is the center of our existence and learning, is stimulated by
various physical programmes, leading to obstacle free learning.
Faculty:
- Aruna Raghavan and M. R. Raghavan: teachers and teacher educators to over 25 schools. They founded Shikshayatan, an alternative school for the underprivileged, where teaching practices are innovative, experiential and democratic.
- Sushila Naryanaswamy: who heads Primrose, has been conducting workshops for parents for over 20 years. Primrose does in Mumbai what Shikshayatan does in Tamil Nadu.
